Its a very simple goal and one that I've yet to meet despite it being so simple!So how do I become a good wife and mother I ask myself. The answer is very simple really. It is understanding the needs of my hubby and children and fulfilling them. It is all about knowing and understanding my husband and kids really well. It is knowing the way to their hearts. But knowing is not enough. The next step is doing or fulfilling their hearts desire.For my hubby, the way to his heart is to become more dependable, more organised and to do things together with him more frequently. It is also to stop complaining so much. When I do this, he becomes happier and in return he returns my love. Yes, love really does go round. When you give love, you receive love.For my kids, the way to their hearts is to listen to them and to play with them. Thats even simpler but again I have trouble fulfilling this simple thing. I have all sorts of excuses from me time to lack of time. I know that the way to my kids hearts is to listen and to play with them. And when I do this, they don't act up. They become very nice, loving kids who listen to me.So now that I've written down the simple things I need to do to become a better wife and mother, like any other goal, I must break them up into smaller more manageable tasks so that I meet those goals.I was a good wife during the weekend because I tried. I may not always succeed but I did make my best effort to do things together with him as well as to control my temper. When I saw that we had become unhappy about something small which could have blown out of control into something bigger and spoilt everyone's weekend, I put out the fire when it was small and all was well again. That is a small step. Next time, I will do better and prevent the fire from starting. ;)I told myself that I will try to be a good mother too starting this week. Its only Monday and I've failed. So now I'm going to break it down into more manageable goals. Here they are.&lt;br /&gt;Stop to listen when they talk to me&lt;br /&gt;Play with them at least 30 minutes each day (By this, I mean uninteruppted play. I wanted to write at least one hour but I think I'll start small ie 30 minutes. Hehe. I want to break that down further to spend time separately with each kid each day but I think I will try to meet this goal first)&lt;br /&gt;Writing down, always helps me to think better and do better. From now, I will write down and review these goals periodically and add new ones etc in my goal to become a better wife and mother. Mother Earth has become very vulnerable and her vulnerable condition makes us vulnerable too. Global warming has already caused serious climate changes, and climate changes together with air pollution are responsible for many diseases and of course deaths.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align="left"&gt;And although there are so many problems that are already showing their devastating potential, appropriate action is nowhere to be seen. There are some small actions but what is really required is one huge action on global scale that would include most of the world’s population. Small-scaled actions are only good on certain areas and have little or none effect on global situation.&lt;br /&gt;Some scientists say it’s maybe all over as we failed to make the right move at the right time, but it’s still not too late, if not for removing problems then at least to try stopping them from further development. Unfortunately this kind of action is almost impossible since many people still lack ecological awareness thinking only how to satisfy their needs, and not the needs of complete mankind.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fossil fuels mainly responsible for global warming are still dominant energy source and renewable energy sources are really thing of the future. What future? If this trend continues what kind of future will this be? Do we really have to get ourselves on urge of extinction in order to know what to do next or at least once humanity can react while is still time? Unfortunately humanity doesn’t think enough of future generations as they have right to inherit mother Earth as strong and beautiful mother and not like some old woman who’s days are numbered. The pressure is on. I've actually put off writing this post for nearly three weeks now. It's not that I didn't want to post, but I felt that a first post needed to have some sort of special significance or insight. There are many things I plan to write about, and hopefully they will live up to the name of this blog and prove insightful and helpful to people in many of my various areas of interest. However, for my first post I want to start with an all encompassing post that doesn't necessarily dive right into the gory details of being a working mom.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Reality for many of us working moms is having too much to do and not enough time in which to do it. Getting up so early in the morning, getting the school-age children ready school, plus trying to get myself ready for the work day. They say that the first half hour of the day sets the tone for the rest of the day. I remember the tone being set for stress and anger. Then going to work, dealing with the pressure and demands of the workplace, trying to perform my duties and yet thinking about and missing my children.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At the end of the workday, the home workday would just begin. Helping the kids get homework started, everyone being hungry and wanting dinner now, getting the dishes done, laundry started, facilitating fights between the kids. Add to the fun, time with my husband, relationships with family and friends, grocery shopping, paying bills, illnesses, transporting kids to and from sporting or after school events and the result was often one tired, stressed, burned out mom. Even going into the bathroom as a safe haven of solitude and silence did not work -- they always found me.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I hope you've enjoyed my first post. I've certainly enjoyed writing it. Check back again soon for another completely random sample of the things rattling around in my head.
